Success for Xplore's rugby groups

Xplore welcomes teams throughout the year for sports tours, team building or specialist coaching. Here is just some of the feedback we've had recently!

Ipswich YM RUFC
Xplore welcomed Ipswich YM RUFC U10s team to Worksop in Nottinghamshire over the Easter weekend and everyone had a brilliant time. The children had a great time with activities and enjoyed the food and interaction with Xplore staff.

'We had an absolutely fantastic time away in Nottingham over Easter touring and have come back closer and stronger as a group for it.'

Southwold Minis

The Southwold rugby club Mini's section recently won a team building day at Xplore for their Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. The team won the prize during the Bury Mini's Festival earlier in the season.

As a result the club was invited by the team at Xplore to a team building fun day at Finborough Hall, Suffolk. The day included activities such as quad biking, crate climbing, bush craft, air rifles, trust trail, raft building, archery and orienteering!

The team, their coaches and parents had a great day.

'I would like to thank the Xplore team for a great day out at Finborough. On behalf of the club, kids and parents I would like to thank the guys for their enthusiasm, fun, and expertise.  A fantastic experience!' Piers Currie, Minis Chairman, Southwold Rugby Club.

Sharing expertise with Jump A-Z

Paul and Neil, Xplore's Operations Managers have returned from a weeks trip to Nanjing in China to assist Jump A–Z who specialise in Education Training, Education Consulting and Course Development projects. Jump A-Z have been sending children to Xplore's UK based summer camps and we look forward to welcoming their groups again this summer.

Jump A – Z are trying to embark on a brand new project for them in China; activity camps. They trialled a one-day programme and then requested assistance from Xplore to move their project along in the right direction.

Touching down at Shanghai, Paul and Neil met up with Xplore's MD Ian Lewis and David Clarkson, Regional Director Asia who showed them the new Xplore Shanghai Office before moving up to Nanjing by bullet train the following day.

After introductions no time was wasted and Paul and Neil set about initially training a team of 6 but increasing to 15 staff during the week. Covering topics such as documents they may require, assessing risks, safeguarding and audits. Neil and Paul visited a potential site for activity camps, two equestrian centres and the Olympic Stadium that recently hosted the Youth Games.

It was an intense week of training for a company trying to start a new adventure and a great experience for Paul and Neil to visit a country neither of them had been to before. We look forward to seeing how Jump A-Z progress with their exciting project!

Home safe from their adventures!

Our team of adventurers are back from their epic trek across the ice cap of southern Greenland.

They were self-supporting, travelling on skis and foot, hauling sledges weighing 50kg containing all supplies and equipment and camping overnight away from settlement and communication.

One of the team, 14 year old Jamie, was raising funds for Active Sussex, the charity working to increase the number of children and young people participating in sport and physical activity in Sussex, with funds going specifically towards running the Parallel Youth Games 2015 event; a multi-sport competition for disabled school children in Sussex. Jamie has raised over £3000 for this worthwhile cause!
